As the Indian cloud market continues to grow, businesses are increasingly looking for ways to manage their cloud costs effectively while ensuring data sovereignty. At Civo, we've seen firsthand how our cloud and AI platform can help companies achieve these goals. In this blog, we'll explore how three of our customers in India - KubeNine, BeezLabs, OpsMx, Airowire Networks, Techdome, and Heightss - have leveraged Civo to improve their cloud costs and data sovereignty.
Simplified cloud infrastructure and reduced costs
The benefits of Civo's managed cloud platform are evident in the success stories of our Indian customers. By simplifying their cloud infrastructure, they've been able to free up resources and focus on what matters most - driving innovation and growth. For KubeNine, this meant a significant reduction in the time and effort required to create and manage their infrastructure, allowing them to accelerate their development cycles.
“Civo has been a game-changer for us, reducing the time it takes to create Kubernetes clusters from minutes to seconds! This has significantly accelerated our development cycles and allowed our team to focus on delivering business value. The web-based workloads deployed in the Mumbai region provide lower latency and faster load times for us as compared to Digital Ocean.
Vikas Yadav, Founder of KubeNine
BeezLabs also benefited from Civo's managed cloud platform. By leveraging Civo's transparent and predictable pricing model, they were able to run multiple AI and data workloads at a fraction of the cost, without worrying about hidden overheads or unpredictable spikes. This enabled them to focus on delivering innovative solutions to their customers, while also improving their bottom line.
“On hyperscalers, even small experimental workloads racked up bills quickly due to hidden overheads and complex pricing. With Civo's transparent model, we've been able to run multiple AI and data workloads at a fraction of the cost—without worrying about unpredictable spikes.”
Karthikeyan Venkatesan, CEO and CTO of BeezLabs
For OpsMx, Civo's managed cloud platform was a key enabler of their Secure Software Delivery (SSD) solutions. With Civo, they were able to create isolated testing environments and validate features quickly, which was critical for their business.
Cost isn't the only thing hyperscalers make complicated. Reliability and speed take a hit too, especially when you're a systems integrator promising enterprise-grade delivery to dozens of customers at once. That's the wall Airowire Networks ran into - and it's why they made the switch.
Before Civo, the team was wrestling with reliability concerns across distributed Kubernetes deployments, rising infrastructure costs, and the complexity of standing up consistent clusters across multiple regions and customer environments - all while needing to meet India's data localization requirements.
With Civo, Airowire now runs stable, production-ready Kubernetes clusters across regions, onboards customer applications in a fraction of the time it used to take, and has driven a drastic reduction in Kubernetes-related infrastructure costs.
"Support from Civo has been consistently strong. The team has been responsive and helpful, especially when configuring custom cluster requirements and assisting during onboarding."
Dr. Shivananda Poojara, Head of Cloud Operations, Airowire
Speed is the other currency that matters here, and nobody chases it harder than product teams shipping AI features on a deadline. Before Civo, Techdome’s automation-first culture kept colliding with the reality of traditional cloud: high infrastructure costs for Kubernetes workloads, slow cluster provisioning, and over-engineered setups that added friction exactly where Techdome needed speed and simplicity.
Civo flipped that equation. Techdome's engineers now provision Kubernetes clusters within minutes rather than hours, spinning up production, staging, and proof-of-concept environments without the usual setup overhead, all on a pricing model that's significantly more affordable than the hyperscalers for the same workloads.
"Civo's support is excellent. The team is responsive, transparent, and genuinely understands developer and platform needs. Standout moments include quick responses during setup questions and proactive communication around platform updates."
Rahul Joshi, CEO & Co-Founder, Techdome
For a company built on execution speed, that combination of fast provisioning, predictable pricing, and dependable support translates directly into faster go-to-market timelines, lower infrastructure costs, and better ROI - for Techdome and for the startups and mid-scale enterprises it builds for.
Improving data sovereignty and compliance
As data breaches and regulatory non-compliance continue to make headlines, data sovereignty has become a top priority for Indian businesses. The need for local data storage is clear, with over 60% of Indian businesses prioritizing it and 63% of respondents stating that it's "extremely important" for their data to remain within Indian borders.
Civo's managed cloud platform has helped our customers address this challenge head-on. By providing a sovereign solution that ensures compliance with Indian regulations, such as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023 and the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) data localization norms, Civo has empowered our customers to retain control over their critical data.
For OpsMx, this meant being able to host certain workloads locally in India, ensuring compliance with data requirements and regulatory norms.
“Civo's blazing-fast cluster startup time, intuitive CLI, and clean UI were instantly appealing. But more than that, it gave us predictability in pricing, quick experimentation loops, and the ability to get a working SSD environment up and running within minutes. Their India region was another plus, allowing us to host certain workloads locally and comply with data requirements where needed.”
Sumeet Kulkarni, Engineering Manager, OpsMx
BeezLabs also benefited from Civo's India cloud presence, which enabled them to expand their customer base in regulated industries like engineering services and financial compliance. By hosting their workloads locally, they were able to meet the stringent data sovereignty requirements of these industries. This is particularly important, as a significant compliance gap persists, with over 70% of Indian enterprises still storing sensitive data on foreign cloud servers.
The Cost of Cloud 2025 - India Edition
Based on a survey of over 600 Indian tech professionals, we dive deep into the real-world challenges: the shock of unexpected egress fees, the headache of vendor lock-in, and the race to comply with strict data sovereignty rules like the DPDP Act.
Few sectors feel that compliance gap more acutely than fintech, where every millisecond of latency and every byte of customer data carries regulatory weight. As a bootstrapped fintech startup, Heightss couldn't afford the things hyperscalers are notorious for: unpredictable usage-based billing, infrastructure complexity that pulls focus from AI innovation, and compliance gaps that erode the trust of retail investors.
Civo closed all three. Zero egress fees and fixed node pricing cut Heightss' monthly infrastructure spend by roughly 40%, and a move to Civo's fixed-node Kubernetes pricing dropped their overall infrastructure bill by approximately 70% compared to their previous Vercel and AWS Lambda setup. Production-ready K3s clusters now launch in under 90 seconds, and Heightss runs its PostgreSQL database in the same cluster as its application to cut query times and power live, WebSocket-driven stock pricing.
"In fintech, you usually have to choose between moving fast (serverless) or being robust (enterprise cloud). Civo allows us to do both. We can deploy new AI models and microservices in minutes using their rapid cluster launch times, while their managed infrastructure ensures the high availability required for financial transactions."
Laven Patel, Founder & CEO, Heightss
Driving innovation and efficiency
With Civo's managed cloud platform, our customers have been able to tap into a new era of innovation and efficiency. For BeezLabs, this has meant being able to scale its microservices with ease, leveraging GitOps to streamline its workflows, and managing complex event-driven architectures with confidence. As a result, they've been able to accelerate their automation rollouts and reduce operational risks.
"In short, where hyperscalers made us feel like a tiny fish in a massive pond, Civo gives us the speed, transparency, and personal support that align with how we operate as a lean but enterprise-focused company.”
Karthikeyan Venkatesan, CEO and CTO of BeezLabs
Similarly, KubeNine has seen a significant shift in its development workflow, with engineers now able to focus on delivering business value rather than getting bogged down in infrastructure complexities. By freeing up resources and simplifying their cloud infrastructure, our customers are able to drive growth, improve performance, and stay ahead of the curve.
Across systems integration, AI product delivery, and fintech, the pattern repeats: businesses that move to Civo stop paying the hyperscaler tax and start putting that time and budget back into the product. Airowire reduced cluster provisioning friction for its enterprise customer base. Techdome shipped more AI products with less DevOps drag. And Heightss redirected the 90% of engineering time it now spends on trading algorithms - instead of infrastructure firefighting - into building a platform Indian investors can trust.
