What was the problem?
As OpsMx continued to develop and validate features for their Secure Software Delivery (SSD) platform, they encountered a significant challenge. To support isolated testing, customer demos, and validation pipelines, they required on-demand Kubernetes clusters that could meet the specific needs of the Indian market, such as data sovereignty and compliance with Indian regulations. However, their existing infrastructure, primarily based on hyperscalers like AWS and Google Cloud, was not well-suited for short-lived workloads and faster iteration cycles.
While these platforms had proven reliable for production-grade workloads, they were slow to provision, operationally cumbersome, and unnecessarily expensive for temporary test clusters and isolated SSD/Open CD validation environments. OpsMx needed a solution that was lightweight, fast, and reliable to support their Kubernetes-native SSD use cases, and their existing setup was not meeting these needs.

How did Civo help?
OpsMx was first introduced to Civo when they learnt about Civo's developer-friendly Kubernetes platform and India Sovereign Cloud. Civo's offering of simplified Kubernetes cluster management, fast spin-ups, and robust security aligned with Indian regulations was exactly what they needed for some of their internal SSD workflows. By leveraging Civo's managed Kubernetes environment and India region, OpsMx has been able to run SSD components like Argo CD, OPA/Gatekeeper, and custom verification modules, and use them for internal regression tests, security policy validations, and isolated experiments with new integrations.
The speed and simplicity of Civo's platform have been a huge productivity boost for OpsMx, allowing them to spin up Kubernetes clusters as needed without worrying about idle costs. As a result, OpsMx has been able to test features quickly in realistic environments, accelerating their development and validation processes. OpsMx plans to further integrate Civo into their SSD automation workflows, exploring the use of Civo clusters dynamically in their GitHub Actions pipelines for E2E SSD testing, and running hands-on SSD training sessions and workshops with pre-provisioned Civo clusters.
