Civo has announced today a partnership with Orbital Materials, providing compute to support the discovery of advanced materials.
Orbital, an NVentures and Radical Ventures backed start-up, leverages its proprietary AI models to design, develop, and deploy new advanced materials and climate technologies faster and more accurately than is possible with human input alone.
Advanced materials, such as batteries and catalysts, will power many technology breakthroughs required for the energy transition. Yet, the current trial and error approach for the discovery of such materials can place a significant lag on the development of novel technologies required for the shift to net zero.
Civo has provided Orbital Materials with a scalable NVIDIA HGX H200 GPU cluster. This high-performance compute infrastructure, optimized for Kubernetes-based machine learning workloads, will be used by Orbital Materials to train AI models, like Orb, the world’s fastest and most accurate AI model for advanced material simulation, that are used to reduce the timeframe for the discovery of new materials.
"We are thrilled to partner with Orbital Materials, a true innovator in sustainable materials and AI-driven discovery," said Mark Boost, CEO of Civo. "Providing them with our cluster of Nvidia H200s underscores our commitment to enabling cutting-edge research that tackles climate change. Together, we can push the boundaries of AI-driven innovation and drive a more sustainable future."
Jonathan Godwin, CEO and Co-Founder of Orbital Materials added, "Orbital is excited to partner with Civo, an innovative organization with sustainability at the heart of its mission. We are looking forward to further collaboration and continued innovation together."
