Arupa Cloud Nusantara and Civo launch sovereign cloud-native infrastructure in Jakarta to Power Indonesia’s AI and Digital Economy
Arupa Cloud Nusantara and Civo today officially launched Civo Indonesia Region, a new sovereign public cloud platform in Jakarta, designed for Kubernetes, virtual machines and modern application development. Fully operated by Arupa within Indonesia, this new infrastructure delivers cloud-native capabilities with local support, while ensuring customer data remain strictly under Indonesian jurisdiction.
Civo Public Cloud is an enterprise-ready platform built on open standards, providing fast, simple and cost-effective infrastructure. Through this local deployment in Jakarta, customers can access managed Kubernetes, virtual machines, managed PostgreSQL databases, load balancers, and block storage to support a wide range of application and workload requirements.
“Indonesia presents a major opportunity for cloud-native technology adoption, as businesses look for infrastructure that is simpler to manage, cost-transparent and tailored for modern applications,” said Simon Hansford, Chief Commercial Officer at Civo. “Through our partnership with Arupa, we are bringing Civo’s Kubernetes-first cloud platform directly to Indonesian enterprises, backed by local expertise and an operating model built around the specific needs of the market,”
The launch expands the options available to businesses seeking to modernise applications, simplify infrastructure management and develop digital services without unnecessary operational complexity. Civo supports a range of management tools, including Kubernetes-native tooling, Terraform, CLI, REST API and a web dashboard.
“Kubernetes gives development teams the flexibility to build, deploy and scale applications on open standards, without adding unnecessary infrastructure complexity. By combining managed Kubernetes with integrated tooling and support for modern cloud-native workloads, Civo aims to help teams spend less time managing infrastructure and more time building and improving their applications,” said Dinesh Majrekar, Chief Technology Officer at Civo.
“The launch of the Civo Indonesia Region is an important step for Arupa in expanding cloud infrastructure options for businesses in Indonesia. Through this partnership, we want to help businesses build and run modern applications faster, simplify cloud infrastructure management, and gain the flexibility to develop digital services according to their business needs. By combining Civo’s Kubernetes-first platform with Arupa’s local technology consultancy and technical support capabilities, we are committed to helping customers make technology decisions with greater confidence and use cloud more effectively to support business growth,”
Reza Kertadjaja, CEO of Arupa Cloud Nusantara.
Championing data sovereignty and transparent pricing
Civo Indonesia Region runs on Tier IV-certified data centre infrastructure in Jakarta. The region is fully operated and maintained by Arupa Cloud Nusantara. Customer data, including control plane data, backups, and operational logs, remains in Indonesia.
This operating model supports organisations that consider data residency, operational control, and local technical support when selecting a cloud provider. Through Arupa, customers can also access technical troubleshooting, incident escalation, onboarding and migration assistance.
Customers in Indonesia are billed in Indonesian Rupiah through Arupa, with usage calculated hourly and invoiced monthly. Civo also states that data transfer for services in the Jakarta Region is free, with no ingress or egress fees, helping customers manage their cloud costs with greater transparency and predictability.
In a pricing comparison published by Civo for an equivalent three-node general-purpose Kubernetes cluster in Jakarta, Civo calculated a monthly cost of 49–62% less than hyperscalers. The comparison is based on specific configurations and pricing assumptions published by Civo.
Civo also states that virtual machines can be provisioned in under 60 seconds and Kubernetes clusters launched in under 90 seconds. These timings are Civo’s published platform performance claims.
Enabling the next generation of sovereign AI
Alongside modern application infrastructure, Civo and Arupa plan to expand the infrastructure options available for AI workloads. GPU Compute and GPU Kubernetes for the Jakarta Region are scheduled to become available from December 2026, with reservations already open through Arupa.
Arupa and Civo will work together to help customers assess their technology requirements, plan cloud adoption and develop use cases aligned with their business priorities and operational readiness.
The launch also forms part of both companies’ commitment to supporting Indonesia’s growing cloud-native ecosystem through collaboration with customers, technology partners, developers and communities.
“This launch is a strong example of the growing collaboration between the UK and Indonesia in digital technology. I believe this partnership, which brings together British expertise and Indonesia’s dynamic tech ecosystem, will strengthen business ties, support skills development, and create new opportunities for growth in both our countries”
Keziah McConnell, Deputy Country Director – Business, Trade & Investment, British Embassy Jakarta
On 24 October 2026, Civo and Arupa participated as Platinum Sponsors at Kubernetes Community Days Indonesia 2026 in Bandung, supporting the growth of Indonesia’s cloud-native community.
