If you could run public and private cloud like they were the same place, what would that unlock for your teams? That was the core message of our Navigate London keynote, and it matters just as much to readers in Singapore or Seattle as it does to those who joined us in person.
For years, the industry has made you choose. Public cloud on one track. Private cloud on another. Different APIs, different skills, different bills, and a rewrite every time you move. It has slowed delivery, blocked AI adoption, and pushed sensitive data into venues that create risk.
Civo’s answer is “cloud parity”. Same product, same features, same API, same support, whether the region lives in our data centers or yours. No special wrappers. No translation layer. Just cloud, that works the same wherever you run it… a term we call “cloud parity”.
Why cloud parity is the right model for the AI era
AI wants data and a lot of it. Your data is valuable and often regulated. Moving it across borders or into black boxes is rarely smart. Cloud parity lets you keep workloads close to where the data lives, keep control over who accesses it, and still ship fast.
With true cloud parity, you can:
- Run in Civo public regions today, stand up a private region tomorrow, and keep the workflow unchanged.
- Place training and inference where you have capacity, then keep sensitive records where law and common sense say they must stay.
- Avoid the rewrite tax that has haunted multi cloud and hybrid projects for a decade.
- CivoStack runs our public cloud and powers private regions. One codebase - proven in production.
- FlexCore turns that software into an on-site hardware and software appliance. It arrives, plugs in, calls home, and becomes another region in your Civo account.
- From there you use the tools you already know. Same dashboard. Same API. Same Terraform. Point your code at a different region and deploy.
- First class GPUs, including the latest Nvidia B200.
- Storage and networking built for high throughput training and inference.
- Security and privacy controls that are practical and easy to operate.
- Clear options for where data is processed and how long it is retained.
- Defense.com need strict residency and sovereignty while processing huge streams of log data. FlexCore gives them a private region with the same experience as public cloud, plus GPU pipelines for real time threat analysis. They can scale without breaking compliance or budgets.
- Orbital Materials trains proprietary models for advanced materials on Civo. They are tackling the cooling and sustainability challenges that come with future GPU racks, and they called out two things every fast moving team cares about. Access to the latest GPUs, and people who help you get the most from them.
- Professor Regent Lee from Oxford University showed AI that generates synthetic contrast for CT and PET CT. No injections. Safer for patients. Faster to deliver. Lower footprint for health systems. His team is building on Civo to keep data in-country while they scale research and prepare for clinical use.
- Keep cloud parity. Everything we ship must work the same in public and private.
- Keep control in your hands. Clear residency, clear governance, clear costs.
- Keep performance high. Modern GPUs, fast storage, serious networks.
- Keep it open. Standards and tooling your teams already know.
What we showed on stage
Our CTO, Dinesh, walked through how cloud parity works at Civo.We also talked about how Civo can now run anywhere you need it. With FlexCore, you can stand up your own region in any location, whether that’s inside your data center, a local provider, or an edge site serving your customers.
It means you are no longer tied to where the big cloud providers decide to build. You can bring full cloud capability closer to your users, keep data within your borders, and still get the same reliability, performance, and control. One platform, one experience, wherever you choose to deploy.
AI on your terms
Josh, our Chief Innovation Officer, talked about the reality of AI today. Many countries, including the UK, have the expertise to lead, but the real advantage comes from having access to modern hardware and clear control over data. That is what we are focused on building.
We also showed relaxAI, our privacy-first AI platform. It runs entirely on open source models and keeps processing within the country. You can connect your existing applications to the relaxAI API and move forward without sending sensitive data to external providers. For teams currently using ChatGPT or Claude, relaxAI offers a drop in replacement that maintains privacy while cutting costs.
relaxAI also comes bundled with FlexCore and CivoStack Enterprise, giving those platforms even greater flexibility for AI workloads. It means you can run the best open source models inside your own private environment, where your data never leaves your network. This combination of AI capability and data control is exactly what customers have been asking for, modern tools that work the way you do, without compromise.
A second demo showed deep research within relaxAI. Ask it a question that matters to your business, and it produces a detailed, source backed report with citations. It is a powerful way to support decisions, whether that is due diligence, market analysis, or early stage technical work where you need a clear and reliable view before taking action.
Customers putting it to work
Slides are fine. Results are better. Three customers joined us to share how they are using Civo today.
Three very different domains. One pattern. Keep data where it belongs, place compute where it makes sense, and remove the public versus private split that adds work without adding value.
A stronger home market helps everyone
The UK has world class researchers, founders, and engineers. So do many of the countries where our readers live. We believe national tech ecosystems grow when buyers have real choice, clear pricing, and control over their data. That is why we built a platform that gives teams the same tools wherever they run, with legal and operational control that stands up to scrutiny. It is also why we work with a growing set of startups and scaleups building services for the public sector. They should not be squeezed out by concentration in the market.
What you can expect next
Our roadmap follows a simple set of rules:
You will see more regions, more FlexCore options, and more AI features that solve real problems at a sensible cost. Most of all, we will keep listening. The best ideas in our roadmap come from customers pushing the edge and telling us what they need to move faster without losing control.
A personal note
Sovereignty is not a marketing line for us. It is the backbone of what we are building. For example, Civo’s UK Sovereign Cloud is designed, owned, and operated under British law. No foreign jurisdiction. No hidden hooks.
Our Sovereign offerings don’t end on UK shores either; we’ve built solutions to solve Sovereign challenges globally, with our FlexCore appliance a key part of this.
If you could not be with us in London, I hope this gives you a clear view of where we are heading. Cloud parity, strong AI foundations, and real control over your data. That is the path. If you want a deeper dive, watch the keynote, try relaxAI, or talk to us about FlexCore. We would love to help you build on it.
